Mother’s Day began not just as a day to honor mothers, but as a day for
mothers to express solidarity with one another and against the wars that
left widows and orphans impoverished. This Mother’s Day, in honor of this
tradition, we are calling for a global day of solidarity with incarcerated
mothers and against a penal system that disproportionately cages people
based on race, class, and gender non-conformity. Please circulate this
call far and wide and help organize a noise demo outside a prison or jail
near you that holds women captive.

Here is a flyer that was made for one mother’s day demo that you can pass

June 11th is the international day of solidarity with Eric McDavid, Marie
Mason, and all long term anarchist prisoners. You still have plenty of
time to organize something in your town. You can find more info on
organizing an event and what has happened in previous years here.

The campaign to get former Black Panther Russell Maroon Shoatz out of
solitary is still going on. He has been held in torturous conditions of
solitary confinement in Pennsylvania prisons for the past thirty years.
From April 8 to May 10, 2013, the Campaign to Free Russell Maroon Shoatz
is calling for an intense call-in and write-in campaign to bring pressure
on the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PA DOC), to release Maroon
from solitary confinement and into the general prison population. You can
find out all about it and download action packets on his support page.

Action Alert – Russell Maroon Shoatz: Call to demand his IMMEDIATE release from solitary confinement!

Jason Sutherlin of Tinley Park 5 wrote a really sweet and powerful letter

Supporting Prisoners and Acting for Radical Change (SPARC) is pulling together to raise funds to get folks to visit incarerated loved ones at Red Onion State Prison and Wallens Ridge State Prison. Due to the fact that these prisons are so far away, it is nearly impossbile for family and friends to visit.  Together we can raise funds we need to buy a van, and we need your support to do it!

SPARC has been renting a van every couple of months to make these rideshares happen, but it has now become a regular enough event that it just makes more sense financially to purchase a 15 passenger van and use that for these trips.

Owning a van will also allow SPARC to possible expand the rideshare program, or offer rides for members and supporters to various other related events and meetings.

Any funds that are raised above and beyond the purchase price of the van we buy will be put towards the insurance and registration and fuel for these trips.

Information

Supporting Prisoners Acting for Radical Change corresponds with over a hundred prisoners in the Virginia prison system. Through this effort we develop political consciousness with the prison population by providing free revolutionary theory. It is our hope to diffuse the costs of correspondence on behalf of the prison population by providing commissary funds for the purchase of paper, pens, envelopes and stamps. If you agree with the intent of this initiative please contribute what you can so that this drive can relieve the burden of costs upon the prisoners and their families.

Sincerely,

The Secretary of SPARC-Richmond

On Wednesday July 25th, the FBI conducted a series of coordinated raids
against activists in Portland, Olympia, and Seattle. They subpoenaed
several people to a special federal grand jury, and seized computers,
black clothing and anarchist literature. This comes after similar raids in
Seattle in July and earlier raids of squats in Portland. A website has
been created to spread information about the raids and to support the
victim´s of the FBI´s Harrassment.
