Join the Wingnut Anarchist Collective for a winter potluck and gift exchange.
Everyone should bring a dish or non alcoholic beverahe to share, and 1 gift for the exchange. The gift can be new or used or ephemeral, like telling someone a story, playing them a song, or teaching them a skill. But please dont buy the gift new- regift or thrift or dumpster etc. Screw capitalism, lets not give those jerks anymore of our money for this event. We can share friendship and love without money honey.
This is from our friend who had the idea for this event originally :
” as to the trade day idea, here goes!

Most folks have never know the “joys of swapping stuff”,having been brought up in a cash/debit/credit structure society in the U.S. .A lot of the world ,however, still does a great deal of basic day to day economic function on barter. What I would propose is that the [Friday] after christmas the Wingnut host a sort of trade gathering for folks that want to try something different . Doesn’t matter what you have to trade, just no cash/bitcoins/etc. ,make it something that you can bring and show that there is more to trading than just doing a set of numbers. Skills, stories, materials to make things, books, tools, ideas, geegaws and gimcracks!Trading has a LOOONNNGGG history of being the way that ideas got passed around since our ancestors first started walking out of southern Africa, and it sure would be neat to see how some of you younguns do in the “call and response” test that is at the core of it all.So, will you take up a skillset that can keep you from starving and aid in your travels no matter where you are and what language the locals speak?Could be fun,and always is an adventure!”

All ages and sober event!!!
Friday December 26 from 7pm – midnight
