Also, letter writing at the Really Really Free Market:

Come join the Anarchist Black Cross at the monthly Really Really Free Market (on the last Saturday of every month) to write letters to prisoners who will be celebrating their birthdays the following month. We will have a table set up with instructions, addresses and descriptions, envelopes, and people to help answer any questions. rvaabc@gmail.com to get in touch!

We will be using the prisoners’ birthdays posters created monthly by the Chapel Hill Prison Books Collective, and will also have additional prisoner addresses available.
This is a monthly event that will repeat every last saturday of each month.

This event occurs from 12-3pm at the corner of Main and Laurel in Monroe Park. Come on out to support political prisoners and talk to people interested in prison abolition.

The Really Really Free Market

The Richmond Really Really Free Market has been a monthly event in Monroe Park for almost 2 and a half years now. This months event will be held at the corner of Main and Laurel in hte park from 12-3 on Saturday November 27th. Buy Nothing Day is Friday November 26th. What better way to celebrate Buy Nothing Day and a resistance to the consumerism of the season than celebrating a positive community in a public park. Buy Nothing- because you can get it for free every month at the Richmond Really Really Free Market! You can sign up to receive monthly email reminders about the event at http://www.rvaradicalendar.blogspot.com

Bring your excess to share! Ask your family and friends if they have excess they would like to share! Bring food, clothes, books, games, kitchen appliances, furniture, art, children’s items, etc. to share!

Sharing is Caring!

The Really Really Free Market takes place on the last Saturday of every month in Monroe Park, at the corner of Main and Laurel Streets in Richmond, Virginia.

The RVA Really Really Free Markets provide people with a chance to share the excess that they possess, to prevent the landfills from filling with stuff that will never decompose and is nowhere near the end of its usefulness, and to offer the community a chance to come together for a day of free fun in the sun! (or rain!)

People can come to share things besides the physical. Anyone interested in sharing their skills or knowledge through a workshop should let us know or just show up and teach others. Anyone interested in performing, music or reading poetry or whatever, should contact us or just show up.

So dig through your closets, take the extra from your work, ask your parents and friends and neighbors to come to bring stuff and come to get stuff. Bring clothes, furniture, food, tapes, cds, office supplies, kitchen stuff, knick knacks, paddy whacks, etc. Any stores, restaurants, or organizations are welcome to bring their surplus items or food to share with the community!

The Really Really Free Market is not about bartering, selling, or discounting. All items are 110% free. No one has to bring something to get something. Everyone can take what they would like regardless of their contribution.

So the last Saturday of every month, bring your music, your skills, your stuff, your food, and your friends and family, and help us prove that there is enough stuff in the world for everybody! (more…)
