The past few days have been spent re-organizing and re-arranging the Wingnut Radical Lending Library!

Books are now organizing into the following subjects on the shelves:

Radical fiction, guns, guerilla strategy, gardens, herbs, diy do it yourself, queer fiction, queer, religion/spirituality, myths, kids books, feminism, graphic novels, cookbooks, animal issues. home renovation, music, art, food politics, bikes, field guides, survivalism, Mexico, indigenous, Native American, prisons, police, medicine/medical, travelling, DIY Do it Yourself, Middle East, Asia, Africa, Journalism, Urban Planning, 1960s, drugs, zines, Hawai’i, Zinn, Schools/Education, Consumer Culture, Richmond/The South, South America, Globalization/Neoliberalism, Government Repression, Environment, The Spanish Civil War, Labor/Class, Black Power/Race, Anarchist Practice, Anarchism

That’s over 50 different categories of books for you to come read, and come check out if you are so inclined.

We are also currently looking for volunteers to help us re-vamp our Open Hours, folks who can come over during Open Hours, offer coffee and tea to guests, re-shelve returned books, help folks check out books, etc. If you are interested and available for Wednesday evenings from 4-9 or Friday evenings from 4-9 please shoot us an email at wingnut_collective@yahoo.com Ideally we’d have 2 volunteers per shift and everyone would take about 1 shift a month

One of our neighbors, an awesome, badass, punk zinester woman, donated 18 really great books to the Wingnut Radical Lending Library today. Everything from radical politics to zine anthologies to radical fiction.

The Wingnut Radical Lending Library is a constantly growing collection of anarchist, radical, queer, DIY, environmental, vegan, popular upsrising and more books. Every month we receive new titles from PM Press and AK Press. We also accept donations and purchase books on our own.

You can come by the Wingnut during our weekly  Open Hours- from 4 to 9pm on Wednesday and Fridays (subject to change however, dependent on other events in Richmond, you can call ahead to check 804 303 5449). We are also looking for people who can volunteer to facilitate Open Hours. We have 944  books available for browsing, reading, and checking out. We also have our ever expanding and newly organized Wingnut Zine Library (over 540 titles so far), which you are welcome to read during Open Hours, but which cannot be checked out.

We keep adding books to the Wingnut Radical Lending Library- a resource for Southern Barton Heights and the rest of Richmond. We are excited about lots of different books, and some of our recent additions include queer books and books by people of color. We have gotten a bunch of awesome new books in the past 2 weeks for the Wingnut Radical Lending Library. Some we picked up at the Monroe Park Occupation, some at Charlottesville Anarchist Bookfair, and some we got through being friends of PM Press.We are missing some of the books from Charlottesville- at Food Not Bombs in Monroe Park last Sunday someone picked up the wrong Milk Crate. If you know where those 7 books are please let us know, we were really excited to share them.
