At last weekend’s monthly Southern Barton Heights Mobile Food Pantry, we put out a big piece of paper with the question: Do you have ideas for our neighborhood? Things You’d like to see? Tell Us!

We also put out a marker so folks could start brainstorming their ideas while waiting for the food distribution to begin.

Here are the responses we got:

No Cops

Afterschool Tutoring (Richard will help with this)

Job assistance support

Better service

Blacks stickin together

Computer services/ training

Community Gardens- Live Food!

We will continue to bring paper and questions to the monthly distribution in the hopes of encouraging more dialogue and planning about what we want and how we can get it! If you have ideas for Southern Barton Heights let other people in the community know. And if you have skills you want to share, let’s work together to find ways to share those skills!
