This year Food Not Bombs will be tabling at the 3rd annual Jonny Z Fest on Shields Avenue, on the same block as Joe’s Inn, between Grove and Hanover.

This will be an opportunity to fundraise, talk to future volunteers, and celebrate the memory of someone who used to participate in Richmond Food Not Bombs.
The Fest is from 12-5, so we will need volunteers from 11-6 to setup and cleanup. Be prepared to talk to lots of people and tell them about Food Not Bombs.
Anyone who wants to make things to sell ahead of time is encouraged to- crafts, shirts, etc. Also we can use a donation jar and more fliers!

More about the Event:

Jon Zanin, known to a countless list of adoring friends as Jonny Z, died in 2007 at the age of 26. Zanin is remembered as a creative and compassionate soul, a lover and maker of art and music, a friend to all and enemy to none, a champion for the underdog.

The festival honors his legacy, celebrates his spirit, and promotes art, music, community and friendship.

Come add your own sparkle to the art- and merry-making … it won’t be the same without you!

ART 180 gives young people in challenging circumstances the chance to express themselves through art, and to share their stories with others. Since 1998, the nonprofit group has worked with youth in the Richmond area to create art that explains and illustrates their feelings, thoughts and experiences.

Partnering with other organizations that serve children, ART 180 designs projects that allow for self-expression, and creates venues for this express in the community. The ART 180 name reflects their vision of turning lives and communities around 180 degrees.
